Kyiv Classic presented the Crimean Tatar Heritage
Under the direction of Herman Makarenko, the chamber group of the Kyiv Classic Orchestra performed a concert preserving the Crimean Tatar heritage on November 8, 2023. Artem Roschenko's arrangements of unknown pieces were masterfully performed by flute soloist Anton Kushnir and the orchestra.
The "Musical Heritage of the Crimean Tatar People" concert took place in Paris, the center of Europe. The Saint-Sulpice church hosted a performance of Ğazı II Giray's remarkable works, which were originally performed in the Khan's palaces over 500 years ago.
Numerous notable guests, including UNESCO representatives, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors, and diplomats from all across the world, attended the event. The present audience's passionate applause for the two encores was compelled by their intense interest in and enthusiasm for the ancient music.
Our maestro Herman Makarenko launched the international large-scale project "Encyclopedia of the Musical Heritage of Humanity" with this concert.
