Classical music appeared in the Kyiv subway
The classical music, performed by the Kyiv Classic Symphony Orchestra, is being played in the Kyiv subway in honor of the 60th Anniversary of the capital's subway, which is celebrated this year.

"Our cultural project "Music in the subway" is designed to create a wonderful festive mood for everyone who uses the Kyiv subway, to emphasize the originality, sophistication, classical style and modernity of the metropolitan subway," said the artistic director of the Kyiv Classic Orchestra, People's Artist of Ukraine Herman Makarenko. He added that now it is especially important to hold art events for the public, because due to quarantine, the opportunities to attend a classical concert are quite limited.

Within the framework of the "Music in the subway" project, world-famous works of Ukrainian and European composers will be played on the subway escalators: Lysenko, Hulak-Artemovsky, Mozart, Verdi, Brahms, Strauss and others.

The musicians hope that this cultural action will once again emphasize all the advantages that the modern subway, with its glorious 60-years history, provides to the multimillion European city of Kyiv.

"The power of music is very strong. This quarantine year is difficult for everyone, so together with the musicians I would like to give our passengers a little of positive and festive mood," added Deputy Head of the Kyiv subway Natalia Makogon.
